About Zaza... & Marcelle
I'm Isabelle, "Zaza", a French Pâtisserie Chef, and like many of you, I love cakes! Marcelle was my Grandmother and an endless source of inspiration for me. I always thought that when the day came that I started my own business, her name would be part of the adventure as a tribute to this special person.
I graduated ten years ago at the prestigious Ecole Nationale Superieure de Pâtisserie in Yssingeaux (France). From then on, I kept learning that very special art from the best, working for Michel Belin, a renowned chocolatier in France and Japan, or assisting highly regarded Pâtisserie Chefs in the very same school where I gained my diploma a few years earlier. During that time I had the opportunity to participate in a national Croquembouche contest for which I won a bronze medal.
After spending a year in London in an exquisite French pâtisserie, I had the honour of working with award-winning cake designer Anna Tyler here in Bristol. Thanks to Anna, I discovered more of the art of wedding cakes for which I had developed a fond passion over the past few years while still pursuing my Pâtisserie love by developing her gorgeous shop's pâtisserie range.

My aim today is to bring together the best of both worlds: the knowledge of French pâtisserie combined with the intricate details of British cake design.
